How does the proctoring actually work?

You choose which signals to track: screen, tab-switching, copy-paste and more, plus webcam from Essential. When one fires, it shows on your dashboard in real time. You see the raw event, not a mystery score.

What if TunnelQuiz wrongly flags a good candidate?

You see the raw signal, not a verdict. A tab switch is just a tab switch, and you decide whether it matters. Nothing is auto-rejected unless you turn on auto-terminate (from Essential), which ends an attempt after repeated violations.

Is proctoring hard for test-takers to set up?

Not at all. Candidates just open the link and allow camera and screen access when prompted. There is nothing to configure on their end, and a quick system check confirms everything works before the test begins.

Do test-takers need to install anything?

No. TunnelQuiz runs entirely in the browser. No downloads, no plugins, no lockdown app. Proctored tests run in Chrome or Edge on a laptop or desktop.

Can I use TunnelQuiz without proctoring, for low-stakes quizzes?

Yes. Proctoring is optional on every test. Turn it off for a quick practice quiz, or switch on exactly the checks you need for a high-stakes exam.

What happens if a candidate loses connection mid-test?

The attempt is saved as they go. If someone drops offline, they can resume right where they left off, and the interruption is logged on its own so it is never mistaken for cheating.

What does proctoring capture, and is it private?

You decide what runs. Proctoring can take a screen snapshot every minute, plus a webcam snapshot from Essential, and track tab, copy-paste and device signals, only during the test. Candidates are told exactly what is monitored up front. Screen and webcam captures are deleted automatically after 90 days on every plan. Answers and scores stay until you delete them, 3 years at most.

Does TunnelQuiz only support MCQ tests?

No. Every plan has MCQ and written questions, and Pro adds coding questions and AI chat interviews. MCQs are scored the moment a candidate submits. Written answers are marked by your reviewer, or by AI on Pro.
