Both run proctored tests in the browser with their own quiz builder, both charge roughly one credit per proctored attempt, and both let unproctored tests run free on a paid plan. The differences sit in the details. AutoProctor sells photo ID checks, impersonation detection, a paired phone camera and recordings as extra credits per attempt, and TunnelQuiz offers none of those. TunnelQuiz captures the candidate's whole screen every minute, keeps question pools and CSV import on every plan, and has a free plan that refills each month.
AutoProctor uses the candidate's screen share to take a screenshot of whatever tab or window they switch to, and sells a session replay for 4 extra credits an attempt. TunnelQuiz screenshots the entire shared screen every 60 seconds, and again each time the candidate returns to the test, on every plan. From Essential, live monitoring shows each candidate's progress and flags while the test runs.
AutoProctor gives you 10 free credits when you sign up. They never expire, which is fair, but there are only ever 10. TunnelQuiz's Free plan adds 50 credits on the first of every month. Free credits don't bank, since unused ones lapse at month end, but one recruiter can keep screening on the Free plan without ever paying.
AutoProctor lists question banks and importing questions from Excel only on its Elite plan, ₹5,400 a month on monthly billing. TunnelQuiz includes random question pools and CSV import (up to 500 rows) on every plan, Free included, along with negative marking, per-question timers and shuffled questions and options.

On TunnelQuiz a sitting costs one credit whatever the plan has switched on, so a 300-candidate drive costs 300 credits. The trade-off is plain: there are no paid identity or recording extras to switch on at all. If you need a photo ID check or impersonation detection, AutoProctor sells them and TunnelQuiz doesn't have them.

Choose TunnelQuiz if you want whole-screen captures, a live monitoring view, question pools and CSV import without moving to a top plan, and a free plan that refills monthly. Choose AutoProctor if you need photo ID verification, impersonation detection, a phone as a second camera or video recordings, which TunnelQuiz doesn't offer, or if you want to proctor Google Forms.
As of October 2026, AutoProctor's pricing page lists Standard at ₹1,350 a month, ₹3,700 a quarter or ₹14,300 a year; Premium at ₹2,700, ₹7,400 or ₹28,600; and Elite at ₹5,400, ₹14,800 or ₹57,200. Every plan includes 150 credits a month, and extra credits cost ₹1,350 for 150. A standard proctored attempt uses 1 credit. ID card verification, impersonation detection, an auxiliary device and session recording add 4 credits each, and candidate video recording adds 15, so an attempt with all five uses 32 credits.
TunnelQuiz has four plans: Free (₹0, 50 credits a month), Essential (₹1,319 a month billed yearly, 150 credits a month), Pro (₹3,519 a month billed yearly, 250 credits and 10 AI credits a month) and Business (quoted). Monthly billing is also available, and prices are exclusive of 18% GST. One credit covers one candidate sitting, whatever proctoring the plan turns on. Extra credits are up to ₹15 each.

No, on either platform. For its Google Forms proctoring, AutoProctor says candidates don't need to install anything and just open the link. TunnelQuiz runs in the browser too and asks candidates to share their screen and, on Essential and up, their camera. Proctored TunnelQuiz tests need Chrome or Edge (or another Chromium-based browser) and aren't supported on iOS.
